ProLift was the first of the new generation of mesh kits which can be used to treat cystoceles, rectoceles and/or uterine prolapse or post-hysterectomy vaginal vault prolapse. Previously known as “total vaginal mesh”, this procedure is a minimally invasive method of repair prolapse which dramitcally reduces the failure rate as compared to the standard colporrhaphies used by most gynecologists. Dr. Vardy was the first in the tri-state area to use this technique and is the principal investigator in several clinical studies comparing the new vaginal mesh procedures to the gold standard abdominal sacral colpopexy (which is a much bigger operation)
